Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England
Education Department Brand

Following the success of the FDJ journal brand launched earlier this year, thebigwindow was asked to create a contemporary brand for the Faculty of Dental Surgery Education Department itself.

As the department which produces the FDJ, it was intended that the new brand would reflect the journal without creating a facsimile, or weakening the strength of the journal and the Education Department as separate entities.

A number of concepts were explored before arriving at the final solution. The chosen marque represents the many faceted role of the department and its international reach. The FDJ's voice is represented through the red circle at the base of the mark, one of the sources of education and information provided by the Faculty.

thebigwindow created a set of templates for the department's communications to carry the new identity, including an image library. The new brand will be launched later this summer.

'thebigwindow quickly understood our need to develop a new brand identity for our important education office. They were able to give us the importance of the college to both a domestic and growing international audience.

Their work on both FDJ and the FDS Education brand over the last year has really helped move the faculty forward.'
