City of London

Promotional campaign materials for historical themed events around the City of London.

thebigwindow has been working with the Department of Culture, Heritage and Tourism at the City of London since 2011.

Most notable projects include developing campaign identities the Frost Fair 200 and the celebrations around the 800th Anniversary of Magna Carta.

The Frost Fair was an event celebrating 200 years since the last Frost Fair was held on a frozen River Thames. Our look and feel was applied to leaflets, web and email banners, posters and selection of advertisements that appeared in a selection of London newspapers and magazines.

The identity we developed to commemorate the relationship between the Magna Carta and the City of London used the actual piece of 13th Century calligraphy spelling the word ‘London’. The only town or city to be named in the original manuscript.

Deliverables included guidelines, printed and digital mailers, maps as well as a press and a tube advertising campaign.
